See what  our students say about their tutors.

I have been attending Helen's Intermediate French Class for 1 year now as a means of renewing my dormant French (studied it some 30 years ago!), and I am delighted at the progress I am making. Helen's approach is well structured using clear and friendly materials to illustrate the trickier points of French grammar. She also has a knack of clarifying many mysteries and 'sticking points' of the French language in a way that is easily understood and memorised.  Her approach is highly practical and beneficial.  The clear explanations of French grammar are excellent, and the multi-disciplined approach helps considerably to consolidate what I am learning. At the moment, we get together once a week for 1½ hours and the time just flies by.  You leave each session feeling that achievement has been made. Well done and thank you to Helen and the lively group that make the sessions so enjoyable.

I am really enjoying this course and look forward to Friday afternoons
Varied, well-prepared lessons. I particularly enjoyed being introduced to 'new' writers.
A stimulating course held in a friendly and supportive environment. Michael is an excellent tutor.
As a writer I find the course helps to open new windows and ideas.
Our tutor, Michael, has such a relaxed and encouraging style of teaching.

I have been studying Intermediate French  with Helen for three years now in an effort to hang onto my last few brain cells as learning languages is so beneficial. I studied French many years ago back in the 70's and my knowledge was very rusty. I like Helen's approach to learning with a solid foundation of grammar alongside conversation and games. I'm not a natural linguist but with Helen's patient help I can now enjoy watching French TV programmes and films and also talk to French friends via the internet - to a degree at any rate! We have a lot of fun and laughter at the classes which all helps with learning and makes the studies so enjoyable. Helen has a relaxed and friendly approach and I certainly wish that I had had this style of teaching when I was at school and college. I highly recommend this course.
