I have been teaching computer classes in Frome for 25 years and really enjoy guiding people through the ever changing world of technology. Since September 2014 I have also run the IT hub at the Cheese & Grain to help those who have no access to computers or have very little confidence in using them.
We moved to Frome with our family in 1990 - before that I had worked in London. After studying languages I spent 5 years in Hamburg. My first teaching experience in Frome with Somerset Skills & Learning was for a German evening class! I then taught IT skills with them for more than 20 years whilst also teaching at Erlestoke prison. Since 2011 I have been a director of FCE and still run computer classes.
Qualifications
BA Hons German, PGCE, ITQ Level 3, D32/33
I am passionate about adult education and love being a director of FCE which gives people the chance to get back into the world of learning, to meet people and have fun. FCE has some great tutors (and students) and I am convinced that learning makes you happy.
In my spare time I also play the ukulele and sing in choirs - which also makes me happy.
